This is the fifth Stranglers release on the album-a-day project, and it’s a shame this band never really caught on in the States. I remember seeing a thread on a message board about punk bands that used keyboards, and no one mentioned The Stranglers at all. I’m going to check out La Folie, I have not heard any of the songs except for Golden Brown.
The Stranglers have outlasted most of their peers, but have remained under the radar. Their music has been coarse, beautiful, inspired, goofy… and just when you think they have nothing left they pop out a good one.
One of the biggest surprises of this project is how good the Stranglers have been…
