I could never get into this one.
John’s vocals are good, the songs at least sound good in a non-slick sort of way… overtly political songs have always made me cringe, though. Not my favorite, and nothing after this would fulfill the promise of the first two studio Lennon albums.
This album sucks dead dog dick, but I was recently in a Russian barber shop that happened to be in a Trinidadian area (it’s a Queens thing) and this song came over the radio tuned to the Russian station. None of the Trin clientele seemed to notice…
