After that Lennon's output wasn't as consistently inspired, although he certainly had his moments. Proof that coming up with 12 songs per album by yourself is a lot harder than coming up with three or four with a band like The Beatles (and a producer like George Martin) to help you. Plastic Ono Band was incredible (as were the singles John was releasing at the time), and Imagine was nearly as good.
