I tend to favor Paul and Georges solo stuff, but Imagine is a keeper! This is imho the high water album of Lennon’s career. I don’t know why I could never get into his solo albums.
Plastic Ono Band was incredible (as were the singles John was releasing at the time), and Imagine was nearly as good. After that Lennon’s output wasn’t as consistently inspired, although he certainly had his moments. Proof that coming up with 12 songs per album by yourself is a lot harder than coming up with three or four with a band like The Beatles (and a producer like George Martin) to help you.
