When I first heard “Well Respected Man” on the radio, it changed pop music for me. Of course, I loved the Beatles and the Stones, already, in addition to many other bands and solo acts, but this was a third path of the important British invasion. I knew the Kinks would be around a long time and be a significant influence with such a strong and authentic presence. Still can’t get these songs out of my head.
